The Home Builders Association Of The Upper Peninsula was chartered in 1978 as the Home Builders Association of the Superiorland. It is a professional trade organization comprised of builder and associate members dedicated to promoting the building industry. This organization will encourage professionalism within the industry, educate the members and general public and positively impact government on building related issues.
The association will encourage the pursuit of human and intellectual values, community service and creative activities that strengthen the communities throughout the Upper Peninsula. The Home Builders Association Of The Upper Peninsula is the largest “local association” by land mass in the United States.
All Members of the Home Builders Association of The Upper Peninsula shall be limited to those persons and firms who shall subscribe to the following Code of Ethics: As members in good standing of the Home Builders Association of The Upper Peninsula, we believe in and accept the responsibilities and obligations inherent in providing housing and its related infrastructure. Basic to these ethical beliefs, we support and will adhere to the following objectives:
Members assume the responsibilities in this Code of Ethics freely and solemnly and are mindful that these responsibilities are a part of their obligation as members of the Home Builders Association of The Upper Peninsula. Further, members agree to adhere to the building standards as set forth in the Residential Construction Performance Guidelines, as developed by the National Association of Home Builders. We also believe that home ownership should be within the reach of all Americans. We hold inviolate the free enterprise system and American way of life and we pledge our support to our local, state and national associations. We have read the above and affirm and believe in the principles and policies stated, and will adhere to the Code of Ethics of the Home Builders Association of The Upper Peninsula.
